Cob-Tail Hackney Pony Mare
A true "lady of the show ring", SOPHIA is the very picture of elegance and refinement! She is turned out as she would be shown "in-harness" with 24 tiny braids in her mane, a silky "cob tail", shoes (complete with trailers on the hind feet), pads and toe clips. Her beautiful face, delicate curved ears, and long, elegant neck, flow beautifully into her streamlined body. Her motion has been captured at the highest point of her perfectly "square" trot. She is the very image of an "ideal" Hackney Pony that any Lady or Gentleman would be proud to drive into the show ring!
SOPHIA is aproximately 1/9th ("Traditional") scale, and measures: 8" tall and 7-3/4" long. (Base is not detachable and measures 7-1/2" long by 3-1/4" wide.) This was limited to FIVE copies. Three retained by the artist, one copy was sold (painted black), and one copy was re-worked into another sculpture.
This piece was molded and cast by the artist. Unpainted copies were originally offered for $150.00.
