Presenting HARLAN, a Foundation type Morgan Stallion. These beautiful, sturdy horses are able to work in the fields all day long and provide a great ride on the weekends.
Traditional Morgans, as they are called by the Livestock Conservancy are on the critically endangered list. We don't know how many are really still living and able to breed on. It is the concern of many that we will see the extinction of the Traditional Morgan if concerted efforts are not enacted soon.
Foundation Morgan Horse definition:
· The sire line must trace to Justin Morgan (very top line of pedigree)
· The horse may not have any saddlebred outcrosses after 1930
· Offspring are categorized as 'Foundation' as long as both parents qualify
Morgan horses can come in a wide variety of colors. They are most commonly bay, black, and chestnut. Less common colors include gray, roan, dun, silver dapple, and cream dilutions such as palomino, buckskin, cremello, perlino, smoky cream, gray, flaxen, sabino, splash, and frame overo! HARLAN was produced is hollow cast with steel reinforced legs and tail. Traditional scale, he measures 8-1/2" tall by 11-1/2" long. He is designed to stand balancing on his tail.

This sculpture is dedicated to my Father, Harlan Fordham, who was the first person who supported my love for horses. He bought me my first horse when I was 7 years old and was always there to encourage and cheer me on in my involvement with horses and my art.
He passed away when I was only 11, but the love, courage and compassion he instilled me was the biggest influence on the person I am today. He is forever in my heart!
