Hackney Pony Colt
This piece was sculpted to match the photo in the picture with the original and has won the hearts of Hackney Pony people as well as those who aren't as familiar with the breed. With his captivating face and overall expression, to his tiny braids, to his stretched pose, the piece just shouts: "LOOK AT ME!"
This little guy took the model horse community by storm when he was released in 1997. I remember seeing that photo in the magazine and I dropped what I was working on and immediately started sculpting him! I sold three mold runs of him in a year or two, and I painted a LOT of them! Each one I painted just made me happy! I mean, just look at that adorable FACE!
He was produced by Randy Buckler and has steel reinforced legs. Unpainted copies originally sold for $75.00.
There was also a small run produced in china by Alchemy and sold through Horsing Around in the UK. Colors were Bay, Dark Bay and Black.
