Spring Projects
April 3, 2011
Here are photos of what we are up to here and how the place looks.
Here is the main project - Pete is jacking up my studio. It has sunk down about 6 inches. He is having to dig out the accumulated sand that has blown under the skirting over the years, crawl under there, jack it up to level and add new stringers and uprights.

Look at how deep the sand has accumulated!

Look at how happy he is about it!
Meanwhile, I have been busy planting flowers and landscaping the front area. We had a huge Cottonwood cut down and in its' place, I am making a little planter with my Windmill in the center of it. I will be edging it with scalloped bricks and filling it with river rock. Then I will re-seed the area and water it good.

I have also been working on the front porch area. I trimmed up the Boxwood hedge, saved a Rose that was being overtaken by the same hedge. (It is planted in front now.) And I added another new rose. I also installed the Shepards Hook with the two Bird Feeders, the Bird Bath and doubled the size of the patio by adding another section of pavers. I made a couple of Rock Gardens along the edge of the patio and at the bottom of the stairs to show off some of my cool rock collection. And I used the ground up Cottonwood stump to mulch about everything! Then I added a few solar walk-way lights around the edge and a few solar powered Butterflies that light up at night and change colors. The last thing I want to do is install a couple of concrete benches. One will be in front of the rose garden, and the other will be along the driveway so I can look out into the front pasture or at my Windmill planter. I love just sitting outside and enjoying my yard!

This is the East side of the car port and front garden. One of the Concrete Benches will go in the space between the front of the car and the end of the silver Horse Trough.

This is my Bench that I got at the auction for 10.00. I love it!

Here is a view of a Rock Garden and my sign.

I have Impatiens planted in these Urns and here is the little Rock Garden at the base of the steps.

As seen from sitting in my bench... These are Tractor Seats on Springs that we have for additional seating. They are a lot of fun!

This is the top of one of the two Benches I still need to setup. It has pieces of Slate embedded in it.
