Hand-Tooled Leather items

Hand-Tooled Leather is a traditional Art that can still be found today with a few Artisans. Artist Chris Flint executes Hand-Tooling in it's truest form! Each design is precision cut - by hand - with a "Swivel Knife", to half the thickness of the leather. It is then "Tooled" using various Stamping Tools to enhance the beauty and movement of the design. And as a final step, it is finished with various stains and dyes to provide lasting beauty.

Chris has been Tooling Leather since 1980, when she worked at Tandy Leather Company in Overland Park, KS. She learned her craft on the job and also took lessons from Felix Walton. As she became more accomplished, she furthered her Leathercarving education with the renowned Saddlemaker and Leather Artist, Bill Gomer. She has also taught Leather Carving through classes at Tandy Leather Company and at a local Junior College. She has competed at the International Federation of Leathercarvers' Shows winning top honors for her work.

Hand-Tooled Leather Goods are more than just beautiful pieces of Art. They are long-lasting, functional items that will bring years of use and enjoyment to their owners! And they are made BY HAND in OKLAHOMA, U.S.A!!!
