Chris and Pete's Great Adventure to

COLORADO
September 23 - 25, 2007

After driving eleven and a half hours, we reached our destination; Salida, Co. The next morning, we began our "Great Adventure" by stopping by our friend Sandy's place to get a good set of maps. This is the view from her front yard - I'll bet she never gets tired of looking at this!

Here are Pete and our to dogs. Chloe is on the left and Beau is on the right. This was their first vacation trip and they were very excited!

This is a view of the valley north of Salida.

The first place we explored was the road to Marshall Pass. This is the first property that we saw when we turned off of the State highway and we thought it was so beautiful with the little creek running through it.

Gorgeous house with lots of windows to take in the view.

Another view further down the road. You can see some of the patches of Aspen turning gold on the mountainside ahead.

The turnoff to Marshall Pass.

More views from the road to Marshall Pass.

A view of O'Haver Lake from the road above it.

A good shot of Pete's truck with the beautiful trees in the background.

Gorgeous golden Aspens! It was just about the peak of the Autumn colors!
